Does the Hero’s Journey End? Claiming Your Truth & Power

December 2021

If you’ve been following us for the past several months, you know this is a big day: the final step in the Hero’s Journey: claiming your truth and power.

Claiming your truth and power is – in many ways – more of a beginning than an end.  As you go forward with the confidence and courage gained from your journey, you’ll find that new challenges will arise. A significant part of claiming your truth and power is in allowing yourself to be vulnerable to these new challenges. To lean in to the learning and insight these new challenges may bring.

As we’ve said before, in this final stage, the hero returns with a new truth AND the power to help others with this truth. It’s not about speaking truth to power; it’s not about having power over another…it’s about power from within, and the courage to claim that power. Knowing what is true and right in your own world, and living into that truth.

You’re stronger now, wiser - and the personal truths that you uncovered on your journey will allow you to face these new challenges with clarity on the values and skills you’ve gained as a result. And we can look forward to the next call to adventure.

Do You Find Yourself in a Mentor Role?

In the 1898 Christmas edition of The British Weekly, Ian Maclaren wrote, “Be pitiful, for every man is fighting a hard battle.” Today, as in the 1800’s, empathy and emotional intelligence go a long way.  There’s an art to offering empathy while also drawing out the best and boldest in others.

To help you develop that art, we offer several resources from the Nova team of experienced executive coaches:

  • Leadership Coaching: Experience what it’s like to have the extraordinary support of your own executive coach. So many of our clients are doing deep transformational work with an impact to their personal and professional lives. Reach out to Kathleen or Lisa to discuss how 1x1 coaching can help you chart your path to purpose.

  • Nova Mastermind:  In our Masterminds, we work with leaders to explore aspirations and overcome obstacles.  This small group cohort experience is based on the Hero’s Journey, which is both personal and universal; timeless and timely.  Our process inspires new ways of thinking to create new ways of being. Destination Retreats: Nova Women’s Immersions help leaders access the root of their unique and powerful leadership presence. Our destination retreats are packed with powerful, life-changing exercises and discussion. We’ll guide you to look inward and outward and uncover your path to purpose, and discover how to utilize your gifts to their fullest potential. Learn more about our destination retreats here

End of Year Reflections

It’s hard to imagine that the strength, confidence and insight that come with the power of completing our hero’s journey would ever fade. However, the truth is that without reflection and continued introspection, the excitement can fade.

We have a free gift for you that will help you keep the fire of your transformation burning brightly.

Our End of Year Reflections workbook will help you assess 2021 with thoughtful questions and journal prompts. This workbook will give you the tools necessary to begin 2022 with a clear and courageous heart and mind, focused on living out your truth and power.

It’s Time to Take Action, Heroines!

We announced last month that we’ve scheduled our first 2022 destination retreats in Tuscany! If you’re looking for a way to connect with your deeper passion and purpose, this is it. Given the current uncertainty, we know so many of you are ready to travel, and we’re offering two Immersion experiences in Tuscany: October 3-7 and 17-21, 2022. This is a beautiful time of year to explore this magnificent country.

Always with you in your journey,

Kathleen & Lisa
